WHAT IS A MARTINGALE COLLAR & WHY USE ONE?

The Martingale collar is a special type of dog collar that gives your greyhound, whippet, or racing dog comfort while being completely secure on the leash. Made with two loops, Martingale collars are constructed with two loops, where the large loop is placed around your dog’s neck and loosely adjusted. The leash is then clipped onto the D ring of the Martingale collar. When your greyhound, whippet, or racing dog attempts to pull out ahead of the collar, the tension on the leash pulls the small loop on the Martingale dog collar, preventing escape.
